Farmer-led collective for Himalayan prosperity
Himarogyam Krisak Utpadak Samuh is a farmer-led collective in Almora district, promoted by SVEPS. It organizes small farmers to collectively produce, process and market Himalayan agricultural products. With NABARD support and government schemes, we have built a robust ecosystem for 300+ member farmers across Hawalbagh, Lamgara, Dhauladevi, Bhainsiachana, Takula and Dwarahat blocks.
To build a self-reliant and prosperous farmer community in the Himalayan region through sustainable agriculture, organic production and rural entrepreneurship.
To unite small and marginal farmers of the Himalayan region through collective farming, provide them with quality inputs, training, and market access, and promote the cultivation and sale of certified organic products that carry the authentic purity of the Himalayas to consumers across India and beyond.
Encourage and support transition from conventional to certified organic farming practices across all member farms.
Achieve at least 30% increase in net farm income through collective bargaining, value addition, and direct marketing.
Establish Almora as a hub for pure Himalayan honey by training 200+ beekeepers and creating a strong honey value chain.
Promote cultivation of indigenous Himalayan crops like Mandua, Jhangora, and local rajma varieties facing declining cultivation.
Ensure 40% women membership and leadership in the FPO, promoting women-led enterprises in food processing and crafts.
Establish processing units for primary and secondary processing of all key products to maximise value realised by farmers.
Himarogyam FPO operates primarily in Lamgara Block and surrounding areas of Almora District, Uttarakhand. Our coverage spans elevations from 1,200m to 3,000m above sea level, covering diverse agro-climatic zones ideal for organic farming.
